Florida State is in the midst of retooling the roster following a 9-23 campaign in 2022-23. Multiple players departed the team after the season including a trio of guards - Matthew Cleveland, Caleb Mills, and Jeremiah Bembry.

Mills has already landed at Memphis while Cleveland is down to Auburn, Miami, or Missouri. Another former Seminole may find a home in the near future with another program in the ACC.

Former FSU center Naheem McLeod is scheduled to take an Official Visit to Syracuse this upcoming weekend. The Orange were the second program to reach out once he entered the transfer portal a couple of weeks ago.

According to All Syracuse, McLeod likes that the two parties are already familiar with each other and he'll be looking for a couple of things during the trip. McLeod noted that he's 1-0 in the Carrier Dome after Florida State defeated Syracuse 76-61 on January 15, 2022. He recorded four points in 14 minutes during the victory and also set his career-high against the program last season.

"Just the bond around the guys," McLeod said to Mike McAllister. "That's what I chose Florida State for coming out of high school. They welcomed me with open arms. The fact that they've already treated me like I'm already there. Just to see if it feels like home. And I love playing at the Dome. I'm actually 1-0 at the Dome. I like that stadium. I think it's really cool."

McLeod didn't academically qualify out of high school and was forced to attend Chipola College before joining Florida State in 2021. He spent two years with the Seminoles but never provided the consistency or defensive ability to increase his role. McLeod appeared in 46 games, with 16 starts, averaging 4.1 points and 2.4 rebounds in 12.3 minutes per game.

Florida State has added former Georgetown guard Primo Spears, former La Salle guard Josh Nickelberry, and former VCU forward Jamir Watkins through the portal.
