Former Gonzaga men's basketball guard Dominick Harris has committed to play at Loyola Marymount next season, he announced on social media Thursday.

Harris, who became the first Zag to enter the college basketball transfer portal this offseason, will join the Lions with three years of eligibility remaining.

Choosing to stay in the West Coast Conference, Harris and LMU are scheduled to play Gonzaga twice during the 2023-24 season. The Lions defeated the Zags in the Kennel this past season, ending college basketball's longest active home winning streak.

"Back home, lehh rock !" Harris captioned his announcement on Instagram

The move is a homecoming of sorts for Harris, who will now be playing roughly 80 miles north of his hometown of Murrieta, California. Harris starred for Rancho Christian in high school, playing alongside Evan Mobley.

After missing the entire 2021-22 season to undergo surgery for a right foot injury, Harris appeared in 10 games for the Bulldogs this past season. He averaged 1.5 points in 4.4 minutes per game.

Harris' season-high in scoring came against Chicago State on March 1, when he registered eight points and shot 3-for-4 from the field, including a pair of 3-pointers.

It was difficult for Harris to see consistent playing time in Gonzaga's crowded backcourt. Fellow guards Nolan Hickman, Julian Strawther Rasir Bolton, Malachi Smith and Hunter Sallis all had bigger roles than Harris last season.

The addition of Harris bolsters an already impressive transfer portal class for LMU. The Lions have also received commitments from former LSU guard Justice Hill and former Cal center Lars Thiemann.
