Former Illinois Basketball Commit Enters Transfer Portal

Former Illinois Basketball Commit, AJ Storr, announced a couple of days ago that he would be pursuing the NBA Draft. Earlier on Thursday, it was announced that Storr will also be entering the 2024 Transfer Portal. Storr was an Illinois Basketball commit back in April 2021. After Chin Coleman moved on to Kentucky, Storr then decided to commit to St. Johns. After a year, AJ decided to transfer to Wisconsin. Storr had a great year for the Badgers and emerged as one of the best perimeter players in the Big Ten. He averaged 16.8 points per game and will certainly be one of the better players in college basketball next year.

AJ Storr is a Rockford, Illinois native. Given that he was previously committed to Illinois, there is intrigue in a return home

The Fit?

AJ Storr is a talented scorer. Despite this, shot selection was the biggest issue for the talented guard. Storr averaged 0.9 assists per game which is rather poor for a guard prospect of his talents. This will also be his third school in three years. On the flip side, he would immediately fill the void that Terrence Shannon Jr leaves on this roster in terms of a go-to scorer and offensive alpha. Per our sources, NIL will certainly be a big factor. AJ will come with a high price, so look for some of the top NIL-budgeted schools to be heavily involved in his recruitment.
