AUSTIN, Texas -- Former Texas Longhorn  standouts Marcus Carr and Timmy Allen captured the hearts of fans on the Forty Acres during their two seasons with the program, helping take Texas to its first Elite Eight in 15 years while winning a Big 12 Tournament Title.

Now, their hard work is paying off with a shot at the NBA.

After going undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft on Thursday, Carr and Allen both signed undrafted free agent deals that will now give them a chance to prove themselves further at the NBA Summer League. Carr will be joining the Phoenix Suns while Allen has signed with the Memphis Grizzlies.

The duo joins former Texas guard Sir'Jabari Rice, who signed an UDFA deal with the San Antonio Spurs right after the draft concluded on Thursday night.

All three players were the undoubted leaders of the program this past season, helping lead the Longhorns to a 29-9 record. Carr led the team in scoring (15.9), assists (4.1) and steals (1.6) per game while Allen finished third in scoring (10.5) and first in rebounds (5.6).

Rice, the 2022 Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year, averaged 13 points, 3.5 rebounds and two assists while shooting an efficient 46.4 percent from the field.

The trio has left a lasting memory on the Texas men's basketball program, and will now look to officially become a part of an opening-night NBA roster in the coming months.
