Former Ohio State Buckeyes guard Eugene Brown III is now much closer to his hometown than the nearly nine-hour drive to Columbus.

Brown, a Conyers, GA. native, announced his "homecoming" to the Peach State Tuesday, as he is transferring to Georgia Southern. The three-year Buckeye averaged 2.2 points and 1.7 rebounds in 10.9 minutes per game in his time, graduating with a degree in sport industry.

Brown was an athletic wing for the Buckeyes who could shoot the 3, hitting at a career-high 37.5 percent clip last season. He could also go up for dunks and block shots, swatting 11 shots in his career.

Brown's sophomore season was his most productive from a statistics perspective, notching a career-high 14 points against IUPUI and pulling down a career-best eight rebounds twice — first against Xavier Nov. 18, 2021, and again versus Michigan Feb. 12, 2022.

The start of his junior season was delayed due to a concussion and, once he did return to the floor, it was tough for him to get comfortable in a defined role.

With Zed Key's shoulder injury and Felix Okpara's inexperience, Brown was asked to play an emergency five-man role, guarding the likes of Purdue center Zach Edey, among others, at 6-7, 195 pounds.

Brown announced his transfer on March 30.
