Grand Canyon will enter March Madness play as a No. 12 seed and face the Saints Mary’s Gaels in the Round of 64. Tip-off is set for Friday, March 22 at 7:05 p.m. MST and can be viewed on truTV.

The Antelopes (29-4, 17-3) secured a bid after defeating Texas-Arlington in the WAC Tournament final. The team won its second-straight conference championship and third in the last four seasons.

This will be GCU’s third-ever March Madness appearance, as all three have come under head coach Bryce Drew.

While their strength of schedule this season may not be up to par with other tournament teams, the Lopes have been elite on both sides of the floor.

Senior guard Tyon Grant-Foster has led the team in scoring for 10 straight games. He is up to a team-leading 19.8 points per game.

Basha Bears alumnus and senior forward Gabe McGlothan has also played a significant factor in the team’s success this season. McGlothan looks to help his team make a potential tournament run during his final season.

A victory on Friday would set Grand Canyon up against the winner of Alabama/Charleston in the Round of 32.
