The Hawks have signed undrafted Wichita State guard Tyson Etienne , the team announced in a press release.

While terms weren’t revealed, ESPN’s Dave McMenamin reported back in June that it’s an Exhibit 10 training camp contract.

Etienne, 22, is 6-foot-2 and spent three seasons with the Shockers, averaging 14.9 points and 2.9 rebounds in 27 games in 2021-22. He also shot 41 percent on 3-pointers.

He then signed on with the Hawks’ summer league squad, averaging 10.2 points and 1.6 rebounds in five appearances in Las Vegas.

His father, Max, played college basketball at Maryland.

An Exhibit 10 contract is a contract that counts toward the offseason roster limit of 20, but does not count toward the salary cap unless the player makes the team.

Per the Hawks’ press release:

“The American Conference Player of the Year in 2021, Etienne was voted Third Team All-Conference in the American last season and was also named to the NABC Second Team All-District. Prior to Wichita State, he spent a post-graduate year at Putnam Science Academy in Connecticut, leading the club to a 38-2 mark and a No. 2 national ranking.”
