Illinicast: Illinois Basketball Lineup With Kylan Boswell

Illinois Basketball has made three meaningful transfer portal additions. Jake Davis, Tre White, and now, Kylan Boswell, will all have an impact on next year’s team. However, the roster is still in flux. As of now, this team will mostly be an entirely new roster. The main returners from this past year will be: Ty Rodgers, Luke Goode, and Dravyn Gibbs-Lawhorn. Though Amani Hansberry, Sencire Harris, and Niccolo Moretti sounded like they would be returning. Two factors affect their return. One, Assistant coach, Chester Frazier is likely headed for West Virginia’s assistant job. This raises questions about whether Hansberry and/or Harris will follow their lead recruiter.

Two, Illinois continues to attack the portal, despite adding Kylan Boswell. Carey Booth, Dante Maddox Jr, and more are all names that come to mind. Brad Underwood is moving as if there may be more attrition. Which is a good way to proceed given the volatility of College Basketball.

Roster Construction

Illinois Basketball will start Kylan Boswell, Ty Rodgers, Tre White, and…?  The other two spots remain open. At first, Amani Hansberry seemed like a good bet, however, there is still a question about his return given the loss of Chester Frazier. Brad Underwood will also pursue a stretch four-man in the transfer portal who we all assume will be a starter. Whether that is Carey Booth or another stretch four in the portal, Illinois will likely pair that big with one of Morez Johnson Jr or Amani Hansberry. Tune in below to the Illinicast to hear about some other names that Illinois Basketball will pursue in the transfer portal.
