Indiana basketball head coach is uncertain with the status of senior guard Trey Galloway for the Big Ten Tournament.

Galloway did not play in Indiana’s Big Ten Tournament opener on Thursday night against Penn State due to a knee injury he suffered in Sunday’s 65-64 win over Michigan State.

Following IU’s win on Thursday, Woodson had no clear timeline on Galloway’s potential return.

“I don’t know at this point,” Woodson said. “I really don’t.”

Xavier Johnson and Gabe Cupps started in the backcourt against the Nittany Lions. Johnson had four points, six rebounds, five assists and three turnovers in 37 minutes. Cupps had six points on two 3s and two assists in 27 minutes.

Indiana Basketball Opponent Scouting Notes: Nebraska

Galloway left the floor at the 12:54 mark of the first half on Sunday and was visibly limping. He was wearing a sleeve on his left knee. When he left, he was seen trying to stretch out his knee. He briefly sat on the bench before heading to the locker room where he changed to compression pants instead of the sleeve.

After working on the warmup bike and doing some jogging and cutting in the locker room tunnel, he returned to the bench but did not return in the first half. He did not return to the game.

Indiana was up 20-5 when Galloway exited the game. He had five points and three rebounds in seven minutes.

“Trey is definitely a big part of our offense, with him just being able to get downhill, throw the lob, or get to his flow offensively,” Indiana forward Kel’el Ware said postgame. “With him going down, I just felt like not even just me, but everybody on the team had to step up. If we wanted to get the win. I feel like that’s what we did.”

Galloway came into Sunday’s game averaging 10.8 points, 2.9 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game. He is one of four Indiana basketball players with three games of 11+ assists in a career, joining Isiah Thomas, Jamal Meeks and Michael Lewis, doing so all in the last six games.

Indiana and Nebraska face off on Friday night at approximately 9:00 pm ET on the Big Ten Network.
