The Indiana basketball program hits the hardwood for game number 28 of the 2023-24 season on Tuesday night and released its official injury report this afternoon.

The Big Ten began with its weekly availability report for football this season and announced that it would be conducting the same schedule with basketball. It was announced that programs will have to release their injury reports three hours before tip.

For Indiana, its injury report listed guards Xavier Johnson, CJ Gunn and Trey Galloway as ‘questionable’.

This is the first time in nearly a month that Johnson has had the questionable tag on him. He has missed the last six games.

On Monday, Woodson addressed the potential return of his senior point guard.

“He did some things yesterday (Sunday) on the floor. Not a lot of contact,” Woodson said. “All I’m doing is I’ll go down today and talk to Tim (Garl) just see where he is. I know he wants to play in the worst way. Time is kind of running out on him. I feel for him in that regard.

“But I’m just going to follow his lead. I don’t like playing players when they don’t practice and not have some kind of contact. So I don’t know. I’ll know more today and see where he is in terms of him wanting to play. I know they told him it would be four to six, seven weeks at the time of the injury, but and we’re at I think about four weeks now.”

The sixth-year point guard, has had a very disappointing season — both from a health and production standpoint. He is averaging just 8.3 points and 2.1 assists — both career lows — in 14 games. Johnson missed seven games earlier this season with a foot injury.

Since he returned from his foot injury on January 3, he has averaged just 6.6 points on 34.8 percent shooting. He also has 17 turnovers to just 16 assists in those eight games.

“We’ll see today and see how he felt after running around a little bit yesterday without the contact and go from there,” Woodson added. “That’s all we can do.

Trey Galloway is listed for the first time all season. The senior guard has been a staple in the lineup this season after a difficult first few years with injuries.

Galloway is averaging 10.8 points and 4.3 assists per game this season.

On Saturday against Penn State, Galloway took numerous hits while slashing towards the basket. He left midway through the first half and was with trainer Tim Garl for the majority of his stint off the floor. It was a left foot issue that they were looking at.

He did return later in the first half, however.

CJ Gunn has been on the injury report a few times this season.

Despite seeing inconsistent minutes throughout the season, he’s come on strong as of late.

In the last four games, his minutes have increased drastically. He is playing 18 minutes a game and averaging 6.5 points per game while shooting 40 percent from three (6-of-15).

He is averaging 3.7 points per game in 13.2 minutes off of the bench for the season.

Indiana basketball faces Wisconsin on 7:00 pm ET on Peacock.
