Another one bites the dust for the Gophers men’s basketball team.

Isaiah Ihnen, the last player still standing from the Richard Pitino era, entered the NCAA transfer portal on Thursday, according to rivals.com. Ihnen has been with the Gophers since the 2019-20 season.

Ihnen started his Gophers career as a rotation player, appearing in 21 games his freshman and 29 games his sophomore season, playing 11.4 and 14.3 minutes per game those years, respectively. But back-to-back ACL injuries sidelined him for the entirety 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons.

Ihnen return this season and played 11.4 minutes per game in 28 games but saw a diminished role towards the end of the season. He averaged 3.4 points and 1.9 rebounds per game while shooting 44% from the field.

Ihnen is the latest Gophers player to enter the portal. Minnesota lost all of its 2022 class to the portal, with Josh Ola-Joseph, Pharrel Payne and Braeden Carrington all deciding to leave the U Thursday. The Gophers now have some voids to fill on the roster.
