Kentucky-Missouri men's basketball game postponed to Wednesday

The Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball team will return to action following a brief coronavirus-related pause.

Kentucky confirmed on Monday that an upcoming showdown with the No. 18-ranked Missouri Tigers has been pushed back from Tuesday night to Wednesday evening. The game will begin at 7 p.m. ET and air on ESPN2.

The Wildcats paused on Friday due to positive COVID-19 test results, contact tracing and subsequent quarantines, but the program's Twitter account noted on Monday afternoon that at least some players were back on the practice court:

Because of the pause, Kentucky was unable to face the Texas Longhorns this past Saturday. That contest was canceled and is currently not on track to be rescheduled for this season.

Before the pause, the Wildcats endured one of the worst starts to a campaign in their history. A 70-59 loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide last Tuesday dropped Kentucky to 5-10 overall and 4-4 in SEC play.

Missouri, meanwhile, is 11-3 overall and 4-3 in the conference.
