The Los Angeles Lakers are holding a draft workout with Baylor Bears guard Adam Flagler, according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.
The Lakers own the 17th and 47th picks in the 2023 NBA Draft. They have a lot of uncertainty in the backcourt, as D’Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, Lonnie Walker IV, Dennis Schroeder, and Troy Brown Jr. are all set to become free agents. In addition, Malik Beasley has a team option worth approximately $16.4 million.
Flagler is a NCAA Champion (2021) and First-team All-Big 12 selection (2023). Last season, he averaged 15.6 points, 4.6 assists, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.2 steals, while knocking down 2.5 three-point field goals per game at a 40.0 percent clip. He would give the Lakers some much-needed depth and has the potential to step into the rotation immediately.
Flagler declared for the draft in March, while maintaining his college eligibility. He has until the May 31st deadline to withdraw from the draft and return to college.
