Antonio Reeves

Wing | Kentucky

Height: 6'5” | Weight: 195 lbs

2024 Draft Age: 23.58

Prospect Profile

Reeves probably deserves more recognition as a prospect than he gets due to his elite shooting ability at 6-foot-5 and creativity off the dribble. He has a smooth floater in the lane and is just oozing with talent.

The fifth-year prospect is in his second season at Kentucky after playing three years at Illinois State before electing to transfer for better exposure and due to a coaching change. He was a 20-point scorer in his junior year at Illinois State and led his conference in scoring. He showcased his elite shot-making ability, shifty handle and creation skills. Last season Reeves played for Kentucky but it felt as if he wasn’t able to consistently show his full arsenal, but this season the Wildcats have changed their style of play which has really opened things up for Reeves. He’s once again playing the role as his team’s top scorer, this time with the Wildcats.

Reeves is an elite shooter off the catch as he can really allow his teammates more space to operate with and has great shot preparation. He’s an extremely reliable shooter from beyond the arc which should almost certainly translate at the next level. He can create off the dribble as he has a smooth handle which allows him to get into his step-back jumper or get to the rim where he excels with the floater in the lane. He arguably has the best touch in the entire draft but it’s not talked about enough due to him being so much older than the vast majority of other prospects.

The Kentucky prospect needs to prove he can do more than score, flashing upside as a passer specifically. It’s not uncommon for Kentucky guards to not get a chance to show that until the NBA level, but even then he wasn’t a big assist guy at Illinois State either. He also needs to prove to teams that he can be effective and guard multiple positions.

The pre-draft process will be huge for Reeves, who will have a real chance at getting selected in the 2024 NBA Draft with a good showing. Anytime you’re the top scorer for Kentucky, you get well-deserved attention from scouts.
