Moore has great positional size at 6-foot-6 as a guard. He spent all four of his college seasons at San Jose State, showcasing new tools each year. A proven impact player, he started in 105 of 117 regular season games as a Spartan.
While Moore’s role rapidly increased every season, it was a tough adjustment for him. He did average more than 17 points per game as a senior, which is impressive, but it came with a hit on his efficiency. His field goal percentage has dropped every season since freshman year and he converted on less than 50% of his shots inside the arc as a junior then again as a senior.
Although the lack of efficiency is a concern, Moore is extremely smooth with the ball in his hands and is a good driver. He also has a nice jumper, converting on 34% of his triples over the course of his career. After a 43% clip from beyond the arc as a junior, he regressed some as a senior but still has proven to be a respectable perimeter shooter. He wasn’t truly a volume guy from deep until last season when he took over five per game.
Given his size, Moore is a good positional rebounder. He’s also a much improved playmaker and facilitator, notching nearly five assists per game last season. That was one of the biggest improvements for him over the past two years. The 6-foot-6 guard isn’t an elite defender, but is disruptive and notched nearly a steal and block over the course of his four-year career.
Moore wasn’t heavily recruited out of high school, but has emerged as a true NBA talent. He’s now earned an invite to the NBA Combine following 2023 Mountain West Player of the Year honors. His father played two seasons at the University of Portland on the basketball team, so he’s a second generation college athlete.
