NBA players in disbelief after former Kentucky guard Terrence Clarke dies in crash
Former Kentucky guard Terrence Clark died in a car accident in the Los Angeles area on Thursday. He was only 19 years old.
Clarke was the only person in the vehicle that ran a red light at a very high speed and struck another car before hitting a street light pole and a block wall, Los Angeles Police Department Sgt. John Matassa told ESPN.
Clarke announced last month that he was entering this year's NBA draft and had signed with Klutch Sports. He was a projected lottery pick entering the 2020-21 season.
The Boston native appeared in just seven games before suffering an ankle injury that kept him out until the season finale against Mississippi State. He finished the season averaging 9.6 points, 2.6 rebounds and two assists per game while shooting 42.1% from the field and 21.7% from deep.
After the news of his death broke, several NBA players and people in the basketball community shared their disbelief on social media and sent prayers to the family.
