Nebraska basketball fans won’t be the only ones to miss Keisei Tominaga this coming season. On Thursday night, Keisei took part in the Final Four 3-point competition and dominated.

Tominaga stole the show and won the competition with his usual flare. He had social media blowing up with even non-Nebraska basketball fans singing his praises.

It was great to see Keisei Tominaga do his thing one final time in a Nebraska baskeball uniform. He was a legend and he’ll be missed.

Nebraska basketball roster news

After seeing a bunch of transfers leave the program, Nebraska basketball got some good news on Thursday night as Juwan Gary and Brice Williams announced their return for next season.

I’m still waiting to hear that Rienk Mast will be back for next season. He’s the last big piece, then Nebraska can focus on the transfer portal. Andrew Morgan is one guy they have made progress with. He’s a 6-foot-10 forward/center from North Dakota State.

Frankie Fidler, a dynamic in-state transfer from Omaha who averaged 20 points per game last season, narrowed his choices to four and has Nebraska basketball in his top four along with Creighton, Wisconsin, and Michigan State.

Fidler is a 6-foot-7 forward who can shoot the heck out of the ball and with Tominaga leaving, Nebraska basketball needs more guys like that, especially with C.J. Wilcher leaving too.

Fred Hoiberg wins National Coach of the Year

Leading the Nebraska Cornhuskers to their first NCAA tournament berth in a decade, as well as a 23-win season, earned Fred Hoiberg the selection as National Coach of the Year. It’s a great honor and well deserved. Now, Hoiberg needs to focus on rebuilding the roster for next season and getting the Huskers their first NCAA tournament win.

Big Ten home opener for Nebraska baseball

The Nebraska baseball team saw their winning streak come to an end on Tuesday against Creighton, but the Huskers will be back in the saddle on Friday with a three-game series against Ohio State. The Buckeyes are 12-12 on the season and 2-1 in the Big Ten. Nebraska baseball is in first at 3-0. They are one of just two 20-win teams in the Big Ten. Maryland is the other.

Brett Sears will get the ball tonight for Nebraska (6:05 PM CST). He’s 5-0 on the season with a 1.36 ERA. Mason McConnaughey (2-2, 2.86 ERA) and Drew Christo (1-1, 4.09 ERA) will also start this weekend on Saturday and Sunday. The first pitch will go out at 2:05 PM CST for those games.

Offensively, the Nebraska Cornhuskers will be led by Cole Evans, Josh Caron, and Riley Silva among others. The Huskers are 20-6 on the season and got ranked for the first time this past week.
