Boise State’s Tyson Degenhart looks pretty good driving to the hoop. Now, he’ll look good driving everywhere else, too.

The reigning Mountain West Freshman of the Year recently inked an NIL deal with local dealership Lyle Pearson Auto Group that will let him ditch his mom’s 2010 Ford Explorer for a 2019 Acura MDX, the Idaho Statesman reported.

“It’s an awesome car, and I’m happy to represent Lyle Pearson because it’s a great company,” Degenhart told the paper.

While Degenhart had to make the down payment on the vehicle, which he’s been using since last summer, Lyle Pearson reportedly covers the monthly payments and taxes.

Kelley Blue Book values the vehicle at an estimated $25,000-$30,000, depending on mileage and condition.

“If you or anyone you know is looking for a car, tell them to check out Lyle Pearson. They have a great option of new and used cars from brands such as Acura, Land Rover, Mercedes Benz and many more. Check out Lyle Pearson to find the perfect car for you!” Degenhart wrote on Instagram.

The deal slots into Degenhart’s modest portfolio of other NIL agreements with local businesses. The 6-foot-7 forward has a sponsorship deal with Pastry Perfection, a local bakery, and Dairy West, a lobbying group based in nearby Meridian, Idaho.

“I figured if I performed on the court, the deals would come,” Degenhart told the paper. “NIL is going to be there, but I came here to be a student-athlete, win games and get a degree.”

Originally from Spokane, Washington, Degenhart leads the Broncos with a team-high 14.2 points per game, adding 5.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists.

“You don’t want to hype yourself up too much to these companies, but you have to be confident in yourself and know what you bring to the table,” Degenhart said. “Basketball and school will always be my focus, but I’m willing to listen to whatever comes my way.”
