Norchad Omier had 33 points with 10 rebounds as visiting Miami used a late second-half surge to win 73-61 over Notre Dame on Wednesday night in ACC play at South Bend, Ind.

After missing last weekend's 72-69 defeat at Syracuse with a sprained ankle, Omier, Miami's leading scorer and rebounder, went 12-of-14 from the floor, knocked down two 3-pointers and recorded six dunks as the Hurricanes (13-6, 4-4) prevailed after losing four of their previous five. Kyshawn George chipped in with 11 points as Miami shot 49.1 percent from the floor and overcame 15 turnovers.

J.R. Konieczny's 3-pointer capped a 7-0 run that gave Notre Dame (7-12, 2-6) a 52-49 lead with 9:24 remaining in the game. However, Miami answered with a 17-2 spurt that featured runs of 7-0 and 10-0. The final run was highlighted by a key 3 from George with 4:09 to play and the final dunk of the night from Omier, who was two points shy of matching his career high.

Notre Dame trailed 37-29 at halftime and Miami's lead grew to 39-31 early in the second half after another Omier basket.

However, the Irish used a 9-0 run, thanks to five points from freshman Braeden Shrewsberry that gave the home team a one-point lead.

From there, the game remained tight, as Omier continued to dominate near the rim for Miami and freshman Markus Burton (15 points) did a bit of everything for Notre Dame.

Miami trailed 10-9, then used a 7-0 run to control the rest of the opening half. A Burton 3 got Notre Dame within 26-24 before Omier scored the Hurricanes' next six points -- all on dunks - to push the lead to 32-26.

Another Burton 3 got the Irish within 32-29 with a little more than 4:36 remaining in the first half. However, Miami scored the final five points before the break.

Konieczny scored 13 for Notre Dame, which shot 37.1 percent from the floor. The Irish have lost five of six overall, and four straight at home.
