Ohio State-Iowa men's basketball game postponed due to winter weather

Winter Storm Landon has deposited ice and snow throughout areas of the Midwest and impacted the sports calendar in multiple ways heading into the weekend.

It's confirmed that the No. 16-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes will not host the Iowa Hawkeyes for Thursday's men's college basketball game as scheduled "due to Iowa travel cancellations and inclement weather in the Midwest."

Ohio State added in its statement that "both teams will work with the Big Ten Conference on a potential date to reschedule the game."

As Patrick Murphy explained for 247Sports, this is the fifth time the Buckeyes have experienced a schedule disruption this season. Ohio State dealt with COVID-19 setbacks in December and then had a matchup versus the Nebraska Cornhuskers scrapped last month because Nebraska was dealing with coronavirus issues at that time.

According to Murphy, the Ohio State-Nebraska clash could be rescheduled around Feb. 19, when the Buckeyes are set to host the Indiana Hoosiers.

Ohio State dropped to 13-5 overall via this past Sunday's 81-78 loss to the Purdue Boilermakers. The Buckeyes welcome the Maryland Terrapins to town this Sunday, while Iowa hosts the Minnesota Golden Gophers that same day.
