Pac-12 assist leader Kerr Kriisa leaving Arizona through transfer portal

Arizona junior guard Kerr Krissa was a major part of the team's Pac-12 tournament-winning outfit and helped guide the Wildcats to a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament this past season, but that's all rearview mirror for the program, now.

Following the team's first round exit to 15th-seeded Princeton, the bad got worse for the program, with Krissa announcing on Wednesday that he will be entering the transfer portal in order to find a new collegiate home.

"I went to compliance earlier and filled out all the paperwork; they said my name will be in the portal soon," Krissa told ESPN on Wednesday.

Once the news has processed, the 6-foot-3, 190-pound point guard will immediately be one of the top players available in the transfer portal pool. Expect plenty of interest from around the country as soon as Krissa officially hits the portal.

This past season, Krissa averaged 9.9 points and 5.1 assists for the Wildcats this past season. His 180 total assists were tops in the Pac-12 for the 2022-23 season.

Born in Estonia, Kriisa has the experience to be a future NBA player and he is going to be a standout next season, for whichever program ends up winning the sweepstakes.

This past summer, the point guard competed in the European Basketball Championship for his national team against NBA stars such as Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo. He averaged 10.8 points and 5.8 assists per game in FIBA Eurobasket 2022.

While Krissa was a 4-star recruit, his only offer out of high school was from Arizona.
