Shaheen Holloway on Seton Hall rumors: "I'm the head coach at Saint Peter's"

Almost instantly following the end to No. 15 Saint Peter's Cinderella run in the 2022 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament, the topic at hand became head coach Shaheen Holloway's future.

Holloway, who just concluded his fourth season with the Peacocks, has become heavily-rumored to be the top candidate to fill the vacancy at Seton Hall, his alma mater. Insider Adam Zagoria tweeted Sunday following Saint Peter's Elite Eight loss to North Carolina that it's a foregone conclusion that Holloway will be leaving the Peacocks.

Holloway was quick to dismiss the discussion though.

The former guard spent four years suiting up from 1996-2000, earning a pair of Second-Team All-Big East honors, one Third-Team nod and sharing the Big East Most Improved Player award for the 1999-2000 campaign with Pittsburgh's Ricardo Greer. After assistant gigs with Iona and Seton Hall, Holloway landed his first head-coaching job with Saint Peter's ahead of the 2018-2019 season.

He's posted a 64-53 record with the Peacocks and was named the MAAC Coach of the Year following the 2019-2020 pandemic-altered campaign.

Prior to their loss against the Tar Heels on Sunday, Saint Peter's became the first No. 15 seed to make the Elite Eight in NCAA Tournament history.
