Arizona State freshman guard Braelon Green will enter the transfer portal after one season with the team, according to 247Sports’ Travis Branham.

Green was a four-star recruit in high school when he committed to ASU in September of 2022. The 6-foot-3 twitchy combo guard has a ton of potential to become a real threat at the collegiate level.

During Green’s freshman season, he played just 5.4 minutes per game in 25 appearances. The Michigan native averaged 0.9 points, 0.8 rebounds, and 0.4 assists per game during his spare playing time.

Losing guard depth

With the transfer portal opening this week, the Sun Devils have lost their second player to it. Starting guard Jamiya Neal announced that he was entering the transfer portal on Tuesday just one day before Green.

ASU will need to rebuild the roster and get a boost from their younger guys on the team. Three of the top five players from this past season in terms of minutes played per game will not return due to graduating or transferring.

With Neal and Jose Perez departing, the Sun Devils must focus on addressing the guard position ahead of next season.
