The Tennessee Volunteers' basketball program landed a generational player last year in Dalton Knecht.  The SEC player of the year and unanimous first team All-American had one of the greatest seasons by anyone to ever don the orange and white last year.

Knecht, a second-team All-Big Sky team member a year ago, vaulted into stardom in his one year in Knoxville.  He proved to be a sign of what is good with the transfer portal amid growing controversy in what's become college basketball free agency.

The Vols are looking to see if lightning can strike twice in a year.

Per Mike Wilson of the Knoxville News Sentinel, Tennessee is hosting Hostra transfer guard Darlinstone Dubar over the weekend on an official visit.

Dubar, who is a massive guard (Hofstra lists him as a guard rather than a forward) at 6'8", averaging 17.8 points per game and 6.8 rebounds per game last season for the Pride.  However, on a points per possession basis, Dubar was one of the best players in the country.

Dubar is from Charlotte, North Carolina and played his high school ball at Scotland Campus in Scotland, Pennsylvania.  He was the 42nd overall small forward in the 2020 recruiting class and fifth overall player in Pennsylvania, per 247 Sports.  He started his career at Iowa State before transferring after one season to Hofstra.  As a transfer prospect, he's the 70th overall player and 12th small forward in the portal.  It appears he has one year of eligibility remaining.

There will be plenty of players who will be interested in joining the Volunteers this offseason, especially after what Knecht and the Vols were able to accomplish as a player and team, respectively.  We'll see soon enough if Dubar will end up finishing his college days in orange and white as well.
