The Alabama Men's Basketball team has been nothing short of exceptional this season. They are currently ranked as the No. 2 team in the country, and are likely to finish as a No. 1 seed for the March Madness tournament.
Based off that ranking, they are expected to make it far and possibly win the Big Dance.
If we lived in a hypothetical world, which former Alabama standout would be a better fit and make this current team NCAA Tournament favorites?
Two NBA Crimson Tide products that have thrived in the league this season so far are Jazz point guard Collin Sexton and Pelicans forward Herb Jones. Sexton is a scoring machine, while Jones is a pure lockdown.
Sexton had the third-most points in a Crimson Tide season with 632. He was a member of the 2017-18 All-SEC Team, the SEC Freshman of the Year and a Wooden Award finalist.
Alabama currently averages the most points per game (83.4) among all Power Five teams and the sixth-most in Division I.
Adding Sexton to the team will make those number skyrocket, meaning it'll be nearly impossible for any other team to match their scoring.
Jones brings a different facet to the game: defense. The 35th overall pick of the 2021 NBA Draft was a two-time All-SEC Defensive team member and won the conferences defensive and overall player of the year awards in his senior season.
Rookie guard Keon Ellis brings both offense and defense to his game. His masterful 3-point shooting adds another attribute to Nate Oats' gameplan.
