Bacot has been dominant at North Carolina.

Tonight, UNC center Armando Bacot will play his last game in the Dean E. Smith Center. For the past five seasons, the big man has been a force to deal with for opposing teams. He has played more games in a North Carolina jersey than anyone else, and has shattered records, some of which may never be broken.

True Tar Heel

In an era where most players leave, Bacot stayed and even put in some overtime. In his five seasons, Bacot has been a warrior, not only terrorizing his opponents but also fighting through injuries to help his team win. He was an anchor on every team he’s been a part of, and it shows in the record books. After a win over Ohio State in Madison Square Garden, Bacot was asked, “You’ve been dealing with an injured shoulder, you told me you were about 70%, where do you find that within you to be the spark of this team?” to which he responded, “My love for North Carolina, I mean, I love this school, I love these fans, and I love everything about it. I would die for this school, I really would.”

Accolades and Records

  • 3x All-ACC
  • 2x All-ACC Tournament
  • NCAA All-Region
  • NCAA All-Tournament
  • UNC Rebound Leader
  • UNC Double-Double Leader
  • #3 All-Time at UNC in Points Scored

Bacot has been a great Tar Heel, both in character and as a player. Things will be much different when he is no longer on the court for every game, like he has been for much of the past five seasons.

Bacot is more than deserving of having his jersey in the rafters.
