Your 7-10 UCLA Bruins put the kibosh on their second four-game losing streak of the young 2023-24 season with a 73-61 victory over the 10-7 Washington Huskies on Sunday.

The club is still just 2-4 in Pac-12 inter-conference play and dangerously vulnerable as a scoring unit, although to be fair UCLA shot an impressive 50% from the floor (25-of-50) and 42.9% from long range (6-of-14), though the team went a lackluster 68% from the foul line (17-of-25).

Another element, however stood out to bench guard Will McClendon, according to UCLA's official Twitter/X account: the Bruins enjoyed a massive 20-6 assist advantage over Washington.

“It’s always a great feeling when you can get back in the win column, especially with how we did it," McClendon said. "We did it with a lot of passing. That was big because we hadn’t had that many assists in a while. We know what it takes.”

Across 12 minutes of action, the 6'3" sophomore reserve guard was a minimal contributor to UCLA's offensive attack, scoring three points on 1-of-1 shooting, dishing out two dimes (against one turnover), pulling down two rebounds, and swiping one steal.

Next up for UCLA is a matchup tonight against the Arizona State Sun Devils. Let's see them keep that passing game strong.
