The UCLA Bruins failed to make the 2024 NCAA Tournament, but they have a reason to smile early in their offseason, as they just secured the commitment of a talented scorer from the ACC in the form of Skyy Clark, who last played for the Louisville Cardinals in the 2023-24 college basketball season.

Clark announced his decision to continue his basketball career with the UCLA Bruins via his X account (formerly Twitter).

“Home is where the heart is!!#MickisthePick,” Clark wrote with a reference to UCLA head coach Mick Cronin.

UCLA Bruins Secure Big Win in Transfer Portal

Clark is a notable addition to the Bruins, to say the least. In his lone season with the Cardinals, Clark averaged 13.2 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists across 19 games, including 28 starts. There’s still a lot to be polished in his game, especially in terms of shot selection and efficiency, as he shot just 41.2 percent from the field this season, so he must be hoping that his Bruins tenure will help him improve there, among other areas.

The UCLA Bruins could use some depth in their scoring. This season, they ranked just 152nd in the nation with a 107.3 adjusted offensive efficiency and 329th overall with only 65.7 points per game. They also finished only 324th in Division I basketball with a 46.6 effective field goal percentage.

Clark’s transfer to UCLA is the second time he switched college teams, as he started his collegiate career with the Illinois Fighting Illini in the 2022-23 season.
