UNC loses another player.

North Carolina sophomore guard Seth Trimble has entered the transfer portal. He had seen an increased role this season and was a major contributor off the bench. Now, Trimble will look for opportunity elsewhere.

Tough Loss

Trimble was a legacy recruit. His brother, JP Tokoto, played with the Tar Heels in the mid-2010’s. This season, Trimble saw more minutes than his freshman year, and was often a major energy boost. Throughout the season, he was one of North Carolina’s best defenders, often tasked with guarding the opponent’s best guard. Although his volume was low, Trimble also became a solid shooter, knocking down threes for UNC. His athleticism, defense, and court presence will be missed. On the season, Trimble averaged 5.2 points and 2.1 rebounds per game. A Wisconsin native, the Badgers could be a team to watch here as they recently lost guard AJ Storr.

Impact on Next Season

North Carolina now has room to grab a transfer. Backcourt minutes are available, as Elliot Cadeau is expected to be the point guard next year, RJ Davis could come back for a fifth and final season, and freshman Ian Jackson is expected to be a contributor. This leaves room for a transfer to come in and play big minutes.

Trimble will thrive wherever he decides to go.
