Watch: Detroit Mercy snaps 27-game losing streak, drawing lone court stormer

After 27 long games, the long national nightmare for the Detroit Mercy men's basketball program is over.

On Wednesday, Detroit Mercy knocked off IUPUI, 81-66, to earn the program's first win of the 2023-24 season (1-26) while snapping a 27-game losing streak that goes back to last season.

The exciting win prompted only a lone fan to storm the court, but one is certainly better than none.

The Titans' last victory came nearly a year ago, an 81-68 win on Feb. 28 over Purdue Fort Wayne, who, oddly enough, are the Titans' next opponent on Saturday.

Roughly one trip around the sun later, they not only won the first and only game they were the favorite in this season, but they also covered the spread (-5.5).

With Detroit Mercy's win, only one winless D-I program remains in college basketball, Mississippi Valley State at 0-24.
