Watch: Fan in LeBron James jersey tries to check in to college basketball game

We have an early front-runner for the weirdest moment of the 2023-24 college basketball season on Saturday afternoon.

Late in the IUPUI-Lindenwood game, there was a brief disturbance when a random fan dressed in a LeBron James Miami Heat uniform attempted to check himself into the game with the scorer's table.

There was confusion, a brief stoppage and more confusion as to what happened as the fan was escorted from the arena.

Have a look.

Lindenwood won the game by a 73-67 margin.

You have to give it to the fan though — the uniform was a pretty close match.

It also brings back memories of when some other fans have attempted to sneak into games or practices.

A few years ago a Pittsburgh Steelers fan dressed as Hall of Fame safety Troy Polamalu and attempted to sneak onto the field during a training camp practice in an effort to cover Antonio Brown before he was caught as an imposter.

The wildest example of this might have been a Pac-12 game between UCLA and Arizona when a fan dressed as a referee, blew a whistle, stopped play and unintentionally sparked a brawl between the two teams.

Saturday's incident was not quite as chaotic but still pretty weird. It will be tough to top that moment on the weirdness scale this college basketball season.
