Watch: NC State big man hits first career three-pointer in ACC title game

Entering Saturday's ACC Championship Game, North Carolina State big man D.J. Burns had played 159 games of top-level college basketball. He had never hit a three-pointer in that time. He only attempted 10 of them.

That changed late in the first half against cross-state rival North Carolina when a loose ball found him at the top of the 3-point line just as the shot clock was set to expire.

Burns calmly picked up the ball and casually sunk a near-perfect shot like he was Stephen Curry and had done it thousands of times in his career.

Wolfpack fans in attendance went absolutely wild at Burns hitting that shot.

Burns is one of the best players on the NC State roster and has been averaging more than 20 points per game this season. He is a big reason the Wolfpack are even in the ACC Championship Game with a chance to earn a ticket to the NCAA Tournament.

The Wolfpack entered the conference tournament as the No. 10 seed with their only chance of earning a bid into March Madness being a conference championship. They made it to the championship game beating Louisville, Syracuse and then pulling off two massive upsets against Duke and Virginia.
