Xavier vs Virginia Tech: The Hokies fell to the #25 ranked Musketeers 59-58 in the third-place game of the NIT TIp Off in Brooklyn. Virginia Tech trailed by eight at halftime and fought back to have a 58-56 lead until Nate Johnson hit the go-ahead three-pointer. Hunter Cantoor had a chance to win it in the final seconds but his shot bounced off the rim and Justyn Mutts could not tip it in. Nahiem Alleyne led the Hokies in scoring with 18 points. Hunter Cattoor scored 13 points and Keve Aluma added 12 points. For Xavier, Nate Johnson hit seven three-pointers and scored a game-high 30 points.
