Tennessee Vols center Jonas Aidoo is one of several UT basketball players that entered the NCAA transfer portal earlier this month (along with Freddie Dilione V, DJ Jefferson, and Tobe Awaka).

Aidoo is a former four-star recruit from Durham, NC who signed with Tennessee during the 2021 recruiting cycle. He was rated as the No. 1 overall player in the state of North Carolina.

In 2023-24, Aidoo had his best season with the Vols, averaging 11.4 points and 7.3 rebounds per game while playing 24.7 minutes per game. He also averaged 1.8 blocks per game (a career high).

So where will Aidoo land now that he's in the NCAA transfer portal?

It's possible that Aidoo could go to the NBA (he also declared for the NBA Draft earlier this month, but that is likely him just keeping his options open).

For now, though, the programs to watch for Aidoo, according to On3, are Arkansas, Baylor, Ole Miss, UNC, and USC

UNC would certainly make a lot of sense considering that Aidoo is from Durham, which just a few miles away from Chapel Hill. The Tar Heels are losing big man Armando Bacot, so they have a void when it comes to having an experienced center on the roster.

Wherever Aidoo lands, it seems like there's a decent possibility that he could face his old teammates in 2024-25.
