Zach Edey scored 33 points and grabbed 14 rebounds Tuesday night as No. 2 Purdue opened up a 22-point halftime lead and cruised to an 87-66 Big Ten Conference win over Indiana in Bloomington, Ind.

It was the second straight 30-point double-double for Edey, who dominated Penn State Saturday with 30 and 20 rebounds. He was 11-of-23 from the field and 11-of-12 at the foul line Tuesday for the Boilermakers.

Purdue (16-2, 5-2 Big Ten) also got 19 points from Fletcher Loyer, who was 4-of-4 from the 3-point line, and 17 from Lance Jones. The Boilermakers sank 46.8 percent from the field and converted 22 of 27 free throws, while the Hoosiers shot 41.5 percent overall and made only 4 of 9 from the line.

Trey Galloway scored 17 points to lead the Hoosiers (12-6, 4-3) and Mackenzie Mgbako added 15. But the team's two leading scorers, Malik Reneau and Kel'el Ware, were held to eight and five points, respectively. They made only 6 of 16 field-goal attempts.

Indiana shaved its huge halftime deficit down to nine points on two occasions in the second half, the last time at 60-51 after Galloway made two foul shots with 12:50 remaining. But Loyer and Edey each made two free throws to stem the tide and Purdue cruised from there.

The Hoosiers briefly led early on, but the Boilermakers took the lead for good less than four minutes into the game on Jones' jumper that made it 9-7. From there, they gradually expanded the lead as they ran their offense crisply and got the shots they wanted.

Loyer's 3-pointer at the 10:20 mark gave Purdue its first 10-point lead at 23-13 and it continued to grow. It reached 32-18 with 6:02 left when Jones sank one of his three first-half 3-pointers.

Jones capped the half in style when he took Loyer's pass and drilled a 3-pointer with less than five seconds remaining for a 51-29 cushion at the break.
