Indiana stuns No. 1 Purdue behind historic performance by Trayce Jackson-Davis

Behind a tremendous outing by forward Trayce Jackson-Davis, No. 21 Indiana stunned No. 1 Purdue on Saturday, 79-74

Jackson-Davis became the first player to score 25-plus points and post five or more blocks against a No. 1 ranked team since UMass' Marcus Camby in 1995, per OptaStats.

Jackson-Davis scored 25 points, shooting 9-of-19 from the field and 7-of-9 from the charity stripe, adding seven rebounds and five blocks.

After the win over Purdue, a school Jackson-Davis considered before choosing Indiana, the senior drew praise from Boilermakers' head coach Matt Painter.

"He's got a bright future," Painter told reporters. "There's some really, really intelligent NBA people out there that understand that. So you can look at those mock drafts or whatever, but he's going to spend a long time in the NBA."

Jackson-Davis was one of three Hoosiers to finish in double-figures on Saturday, along with guards Jalen Hood-Schifino and Trey Galloway. Hood-Schifino had 16 points on 8-of-15 shooting, leading the team with four assists. Meanwhile, Galloway shot 4-of-8 from the field for 11 points and had a team-high three steals.

Indiana improved to 16-7 on the season. For the Hoosiers, it's the program's first win over a No. 1 ranked team since the Hoosiers took down Michigan in 2013.

On the other side, Purdue falls for the first time since suffering a one-point loss to Rutgers on Jan. 2. following a 13-0 start.

Despite Saturday's loss, now at 21-2, the Boilermakers will likely hold onto the number one spot in the rankings.
