Pitt hosted priority recruit Amari Evans for an official visit recently.
Evans, a guard out of Overtime Elite, is originally from Pittsburgh. He began his high-school career at Bishop Canevin and now plays for OTE down in Atlanta. On Monday, he joined Pittsburgh Sports Now to break down his recent visit to Pitt, talk about being from Pittsburgh, making the transition to OTE, and much more.
Evans also listed the schools that are recruiting him the hardest, provided a timeline for his recruitment, and more.
Pitt has been recruiting 2025 prospects for two summers now, and has a solid list of targets that seem to be at the top of its board. That list includes Evans as well as former Lincoln Park guard Meleek Thomas, who is now playing for Overtime Elite in Atlanta. The list also includes Isaiah Denis, who recently scheduled an official visit to check out Pitt.
Derek Dixon is another name to watch. The D.C. product has already taken an official visit to Pitt and Jeff Capel has watched him play a number of times.
Dixon is a four-star guard in the class of 2025 out of Washington D.C. He is currently ranked in the top-65 in the rising senior class by 247 Sports, and his stellar performance this spring and summer has earned him more offers and interest from the highest level of college hoops.
