Michigan star Hunter Dickinson gives Wisconsin bulletin-board material with extreme trash talk

Michigan and Wisconsin don't play on the hardwood until mid-February, but that isn't stopping Wolverines center Hunter Dickinson from talking some trash.

And when I say trash, I mean this guy came out here and is talking the smelliest of trash.

Recently speaking on a Barstool Sports podcast, Dickinson was asked if he felt the No. 14-ranked Badgers were actually a good team. Mind you, Dickinson's Wolverines are currently unranked.

"Wisconsin, they are just scumbags. That’s what it is. They are just scumbags. Nothing I can say about Wisconsin is going to fire up the matchup even more. It already is what it is. They are scumbags," Dickinson said (h/t 247Sports' Michael Hogan). "The feeling could not be anymore mutual. It’s not like it’s a one-sided beef where I am mad at (former Maryland head coach) Mark Turgeon for not recruiting me. Maryland, the players, they have no reason to be mad at me. This one is very mutual."

It's worth noting that the last time the two teams played, Michigan head coach Juwan Howard threw a punch that hit Badgers assistant coach Joe Krabbenhoft after a scuffle started because Howard and Wisconsin coach Greg Gard got in an argument in the postgame handshake line.

Dickinson was apparently also unhappy with Wisconsin fans that afternoon, who were chanting "NIT" toward the Wolverines at the end of the game, which the Badgers won.

"We heard those 'N-I-T' chants. They were hurtful. They definitely hurt. It's funny how they'll be watching us on Thursday back in their cribs," Dickinson said sarcastically in March 2022 while the Wolverines were on their run to the Sweet 16.

Clearly, there's no love from Dickinson to the Badgers, but it sounds like he believes there's no love lost between the two sides anyhow.

It's going to be interesting to see how this plays with the Wisconsin fan base. Michigan's first matchup with Wisconsin this season will be on Feb. 14 in Madison.
