No. 2 Baylor men's basketball postpones two games

One of the best men's college basketball teams in the country is taking a temporary pause.

The No. 2-ranked Baylor Bears, holders of a perfect 17-0 record, announced on Thursday that Saturday's game against the TCU Horned Frogs and next Wednesday's matchup at the Oklahoma Sooners are postponed "due to the Big 12 Conference men's basketball interruption guidelines."

No further information was revealed in Baylor's statement, but it's widely presumed the Bears are dealing with coronavirus-related setbacks. Head coach Scott Drew confirmed in November that he tested positive for COVID-19:

The No. 6-ranked Texas Longhorns rallied from their own COVID-19 problems but fell to Baylor on Tuesday. That result cemented the Bears as favorites to earn a No. 1 seed in next month's NCAA Tournament.

As of Thursday evening, Baylor remained scheduled to host the No. 13-ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders on Feb. 13. The status of that game likely won't be addressed until next week.
