Dayton responds to top big man’s injury with two huge wins

When Dayton lost starting forward Josh Benson to a season-ending knee injury on Dec. 30, it was difficult to envision the Flyers absorbing the absence of a double-digit scorer without missing a beat. Josh Benson scored 13 points and helped lead a 17-0 run to give Dayton a 64-57 win over Illinois-Chicago on Friday night. Dayton (9-4) trailed 32-24 with 1:31 to go until halftime and scored 17 straight stretching into the second half.
