NCAA superstar Caitlin Clark has moved one step closer to winning the national championship this year. The Iowa Hawkeyes defeated the UConn Huskies in a nail-biting game to advance to the NCAA Finals. After the battle of Final Four, the Hawkeyes star got honest about her last game as a college athlete.

About a month ago, Caitlin Clark surprisingly announced her decision to enter the 2024 WNBA draft. Now that the team has qualified for the finals, the championship game will be the last of Clark’s college career. After the win, the 22-year-old was asked about her thoughts on playing her final game as an Iowa Hawkeye.

It definitely hasn't hit me. I think I'm just really grateful and thankful. I used every single second of my college career over the course of last two years. I've made the most of every single moment. Caitlin Clark via post-game interview

Advancing to the Final Four and heading to the NCAA Finals for the second time in a row is not an easy task. The star reflected on the team’s journey while discussing their upcoming opponents. The player took into consideration the Gamecocks’ amazing season so far. Clark is certain that Iowa will have their ‘hands full’ to reach the ultimate goal of beating South Carolina.

Similar to last year, the South Carolina Gamecocks are undefeated during March Madness. However, despite an unbeaten season, the team lost to the Hawkeyes in the Final Four matchup last year. Therefore, gaining confidence from last year’s win, Clark believed that the Hawkeyes could defeat such a team on any given day.

The Indiana Fever hinted at Caitlin Clark’s position in the WNBA draft

Clark is having an extraordinary collegiate career so far. The star broke unreal records during her last year in Iowa, which made her the front-runner for the number one pick in the WNBA draft. As soon as the star announced her decision to head for the WNBA draft, the Indiana Fever hinted at drafting Clark in the drafts.

Same as last year, the Fever will get to recruit the first pick in the 2024 draft. After Clark’s announcement, the team has subtly hinted at selecting her on their social media. The news took the basketball world by storm as the ticket rates jumped tremendously for the first game of Indiana Fever after the draft.

The WNBA’s popularity is expected to change significantly after Clark joins them. Many things in the league have changed due to Clark’s impact, including the change in the draft venue. The star’s draft and rookie year will certainly be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for basketball fans.
