Caitlin Clark's announcement has fans jumping on one team's bandwagon

WNBA fans already have Caitlin Clark fever, and the only prescription will come on April 15.

That's when the Indiana Fever is expected to select the Iowa senior guard with the first overall pick during the 2024 WNBA Draft.

After making the playoffs just once in their first five years of existence, the Fever qualified for the postseason in 12 consecutive campaigns from 2005-2016 and won a title in 2012. Indiana was led by 10-time All-Star, one-time MVP and Hall of Fame forward Tamika Catchings during the entire run but hasn't been back to the playoffs since she retired.

The franchise ushered in a new era under first-year head coach Christie Sides last season, with No. 1 overall pick Aliyah Boston as the roster's centerpiece. Boston won the Rookie of the Year award and was an All-Star in her debut campaign, while leading the team to more wins than the previous two seasons combined.

Still, the Fever finished just 13-27, though the .325 winning percentage was their best mark since 2019.

Now, with Clark presumably less than two months away from joining Indiana, Fever fans are hoping that she and the former University of South Carolina star can team up to lead the franchise back to the postseason.

The women's major college all-time leading scorer made it clear in her declaration for the draft that she hasn't moved on from the Hawkeyes yet.

"While this season is far from over and we have a lot more goals to achieve, it will be my last at Iowa," Clark wrote in a social media post on Thursday.
