Iowa's Caitlin Clark records first 40-point triple-double in NCAA Tournament history

Iowa's Caitlin Clark made history, becoming the first player, among men and women, to post a triple-double with 30 or more points in an NCAA Tournament game.

Clark was dominant from start to finish in Iowa's 97-83 win over No. 5 Louisville in the women's Elite Eight on Sunday night.

The standout junior finished with 41 points, shooting 58% (11-of-19) from the field and 57% from 3 (8-of-14) to finish with 41 points. Clark added 12 assists and 10 rebounds, credited with her final board with 1:03 left in the fourth quarter.

Clark now holds the distinction as the only player to post a 30- and 40-point triple-double in an NCAA Tournament game. Her monstrous effort also helped her become the first player in Division I history to score 900 points and record 300 assists in a single season, per ESPN Stats and Info

Through four NCAA Tournament games, Clark is averaging 30 points, 11 assists and six rebounds.

With Clark leading the charge, the Hawkeyes advance to the Final Four for the first time since 1993. Iowa knocked off No. 15 Southeastern Louisiana, No. 10 Georgia, No. 6 Colorado and Louisville on their path to the Final Four.

The Hawkeyes will face the winner of Monday's Elite 8 matchup pitting No. 2 Maryland vs. No. 1 South Carolina, the defending national champions.
