There will be no repeat for Angel Reese and the LSU Tigers , as they lost to Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes Monday night in the Elite Eight portion of the Big Dance. But the 94-87 loss nor her team’s performance was the only thing she wanted to talk about right after the defeat.

LSU Tigers Star Angel Reese Reveals Getting Death Threats

During the postgame press conference, Reese revealed the difficulties she’s experienced, including getting death threats ever since the Tigers won the national title in 2023.

“I just try to stay strong… I’ve been attacked so many times — Death threats, I’ve been sexualized, I’ve been threatened. I’m still human. Since I won the national championship I haven’t been happy since then.”

Reese has risen to national prominence in the 2022-23 college basketball season — her first with the Tigers. That season, she averaged 23.0 points, 15.4 rebounds, and was named the 2023 NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player while also winning the NCAA title.

Although Reese fell short of her mission to help LSU become back-to-back champions, the future is definitely still bright for her basketball career, whether she opts to return to Baton Rouge or leave the college ranks and turn pro.

In what could potentially be her final game in LSU uniform, Reese collected 17 points on 7/21 shooting from the floor and grabbed 20 rebounds with four assists, two steals, and three blocks in the loss to the Hawkeyes.
