Three-star linebacker Ethan Johnson announced his commitment to Austin Peay on Monday. Johnson held offers from Appalachian State, Coastal Carolina, Marshall, Army, and multiple other FCS programs.

The 6-foot-1, 215-pound linebacker is from Shades Valley High School in Birmingham, Alabama. Johnson is the No. 53 player in Alabama and No. 135 linebacker in the class of 2024, according to 247Sports

Johnson earned Alabama 6A All-State honors last season. The 2024 prospect finished his junior season with 151 total tackles, 16 tackles for loss, and two sacks.

In only five games this season, Johnson has totaled 98 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, six sacks, four forced fumbles, and nine quarterback hurries.
