The San Francisco 49ers could look into bolstering their defensive backfield in the upcoming draft. Mike Kaye of the Charlotte Observer reports that the team is one of several that have met with former Wake Forest defensive back Malik Mustapha.

Mustapha is a versatile player who took snaps in both the slot and free safety positions this past season with the Demon Deacons.

His 79.6 overall grade from Pro Football Focus in 2023 marked a career high. Notably, he excelled against the run, accumulating a career-best 26 stops alongside his 80 tackles, including five for a loss, 0.5 sacks, one interception, two passes defensed, and a forced fumble this past season.

Mustapha (5-11, 207) has tallied 175 tackles, including 15 for a loss, four sacks, three interceptions, seven passes defensed, and four forced fumbles in three seasons with Wake Forest.
