Alabama WR Jameson Williams making progress ahead of NFL Draft after tearing ACL

Things looked bleak for Jameson Williams when he tore his ACL in the College Football Playoff championship game against Georgia this year. The Crimson Tide wide receiver was easily a top-tier draft pick before that injury and subsequent surgery he needed.

Thankfully, things are looking up for the NFL hopeful, who didn't participate in Alabama's pro day this week but was filmed doing a workout session without a knee brace or any assistance.

Williams' post-surgery rehab has gone so well, according to him, that he hopes to be ready to get to work when training camps open at the end of the summer.

Although pundits suspect the injury could drop Williams to a second-round selection in the draft, plenty of teams still appear to be interested in the St. Louis native. Teams with newly departed big-name receivers, such as the Chiefs and the Packers, have been mentioned, while others, such as the Cowboys and Raiders, have also entered the discussion.

The 2022 NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday, April 28.
