When Nick Saban arrived in Tuscaloosa in 2007 the Crimson Tide had plenty of national titles to brag about, but zero Heisman Trophy winners. In 2023 under Saban's reign Alabama has added to its national title count and has finally collected a bronze bust along the way, four of them to be exact.

On Thursday Fox Sports announced Alabama's original Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram will be joining its college football staff serving as a pregame analyst for "Big Noon Sports".

The announcement indicates Ingram's plans to discontinue playing professional football after an illustrious 12-year career.

“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Heisman Trophy-winner and BCS National Champion Mark Ingram to the FOX Sports family,” said FOX Sports President of Production and Operations, Executive Producer Brad Zager. “Mark’s infectious personality, outstanding playing credentials and above all passion for the game is what makes him such an invaluable asset to our team. With him on board, BIG NOON KICKOFF will continue to provide viewers with unparalleled analysis and commentary each and every Saturday.”

The move was hinted in the New York Post in June and after contract disputes with former Southern Cal running back Reggie Bush transpired, Ingram got the job.

Ingram will be seen on Fox with Matt Leonart, Brady Quinn, Urban Meyer and host Rob Stone beginning on Saturdays at 9 a.m. CT.

“I’m thrilled to join FOX Sports and BIG NOON KICKOFF”, said Ingram II. “I can’t wait to feel the energy and excitement every Saturday, alongside some of the most talented and entertaining names in our sport, at the biggest games in college football – I’m ready for the Fall!”

Ingram concludes his professional career as a three-time Pro Bowler with 8,111 rushing yards and 65 touchdowns.

As a member of the Crimson Tide he rushed for 3,261 yards and 42 touchdowns, winning the Heisman Trophy and national championship in 2009.
