Army-Navy Game to be played in five different cities over five years

The Army-Navy Game will tour the East Coast over the next five years, the pair of schools announced jointly on Wednesday.

The annual battle for the Secretary's Trophy dates back to 1890 and has been played in several stadiums. The majority of the games have been held in Philadelphia and that will be the case for the 90th time when Army and Navy meet at Lincoln Financial Field in December. After that, the game will travel between four different cities before making its Philadelphia return.

The Army-Navy Game will happen in Foxborough, Mass. in 2023, Landover, Md. in 2024, Baltimore in 2025, and East Rutherford, N.J. in 2026 before coming back to Philadelphia in 2027.

"We are looking forward to the pageantry and tradition to be on display for the fans in these cities while providing an opportunity to support the Cadets and Midshipmen," Army athletic director Mike Buddie said in a statement. "We had great interest from many regions and thank the cities who participated in the bid selection process. We cannot wait to have this game played at some incredible venues in great cities."

The 2023 edition will be the first time the Army-Navy Game has been played in the state of Massachusetts and it will be hosted a week before the 250th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party.

Navy leads the all-time series 62-53-7 and beat Army, 17-13, when the teams last met.
