The Boise State Broncos have started the 2023 season with a 2-3 record. In an effort to keep the Broncos in the conversation for a Mountain West title through the second half of the season, head coach Andy Avalos is currently committed to a two-quarterback system involving mobile sophomore Taylen Green and efficient freshman Maddux Madsen.

Green, Madsen, and most other Bronco quarterbacks before them have likely taken a lesson from one former holder of the position: current Los Angeles Chargers offensive coordinator Kellen Moore. Moore recently appeared on the official podcast of G5 Football Daily to discuss, among other things, the current state of the Boise State Broncos.

Specifically, Moore was asked what advice he would give to the two young men currently splitting reps at a position he held for four years. Here's what the winningest quarterback in the history of college football had to say:

"I think it's an awesome opportunity to be the starting quarterback or to be a quarterback playing at Boise State just because of the awesome history, that was there even way before I got there. It's been a really cool lineage of guys who have had the opportunity to play that position there. Really special people. I think the biggest thing is just enjoy it. Have fun. Sometimes we get in these situations where maybe two guys are playing rather than the traditional one. Both guys have earned it. Both guys have earned the opportunity to play. Just enjoy each and every moment. Have some fun playing out there. They're there for a reason. They have talent, everyone sees it. Just go have some fun and let it all come out."

Boise State will look for their third win and continue their season October 7 at home against San José State.
